Fluoride is a mineral that helps prevent cavities. The American Dental Association recommends that parents brush their kids’ teeth (once they come in) with a fluoride toothpaste twice a day.

Too Much of a Good Thing?
Too much fluoride can lead to something called “fluorosis” (white stains on the teeth), so you don’t want to overdo it.

If your child swallows a little toothpaste (which is common), don’t worry. It shouldn’t be a problem as long as you put the right(ish) amount of toothpaste on the brush to start.

HAPPY BRUSHING!
